Song: "What Part Of No" Recorded By Lorrie Morgan

Born Loretta Lynn Morgan on June 27, 1959, Lorrie Morgan grew up the daughter of Grand Ole Opry star George Morgan. She spent many nights backstage at the Opry and made her debut there professionally a year later, at 13, and became a member of the Opry in 1984. By 21, she was opening shows for George Jones. She performed at Opryland USA, sang demo sessions for country publishing giant Acuff-Rose. Her father died when she was 16, and she was singing professionally a year later.
Although Morgan charted her first single, "Two People in Love," in 1979, her career took off with the 1989 release of "Dear Me," a Top 10 hit that coincided with the death of her husband Keith Whitley. Over the following decade, Morgan released three No. 1 singles -- "Five Minutes," "What Part of No" and "I Didn't Know My Own Strength." Her other hits include "Out of Your Shoes," "Watch Me," "Something in Red" and "Except for Monday."
Morgan was married to singer-songwriter Jon Randall from 1996-99, and they charted the hit duet "By My Side." Although Morgan exited BNA Records in 2000, she returned to the company's sister label RCA in 2001 with I Finally Found Someone, an album of duets with Sammy Kershaw. She and Kershaw married later that year, and they own and operate a hot chicken restaurant on the outskirts of Nashville.
Morgan's 12th album, Show Me How, was released in early 2003 on the Image Entertainment label.

Lorrie Survives Tough Times
Article by Chris Neal/Photos by Mark Mosrie

Heading the article is, "Only The Strong Survive" and Lorrie Morgan has proven she indeed is a strong lady. Lorrie quotes, "This last year has been really tough. A lot of tests have happened in the last year." She and husband, country singer, Sammy Kershaw will soon be celebrating their 5th wedding anniversary having made it through some rough spots but their love for one another and supporting each other, have helped them see their way through. Now, they are on an upward swing professionally with Sammy's release of his first album in three years. Titled, "Honky Tonk Boots" it's been well received. Lorrie has been working with songwriters, Kelly Lang and Mark Oliverius on songs for her upcoming album, "All Gone Fishin'", a collection of fishing related songs.
"We have created these magical songs," she gushes. "It is my life story in the last year in song form. It's something that is so me. It's about starting over and keeping things together. It's everything in one. I'm telling you, this has been my dream. This is my baby. I can't wait 'til everybody hears it. People are gonna be going, 'Holy Toledo!' They are I'm telling you! She projects the album will be out at the end of the year.
We can't wait to hear it Lorrie and know it will be delightful and as always, the best from the best! We wish both Lorrie and Sammy wonderful success with their new albums!

Lorrie has proven that she is a survivor and said she believes the new songs will connect particularly well with women like herself: a 46 year old survivor who's loved, lost, and lived to love again. "It's geared to women, not young chicks," she quips. "Women who get what heartache is, and how to bounce back."

Lorrie spoke of how she and Sammy have had to be great jugglers to make it work for them with family and careers. They seem to be a great juggling team and now that this past year is behind them, they both have new albums out or soon to be released, we hope this is going to be a successful, relaxed and peaceful year for this dynamic duo!
