June Carter Cash

"Wildwood Flower"
The booklet insert is awesome, with a long intro by Roseanne Cash, telling many stories about June. Many classic photos, plus a beautiful picture of Johnny and June.
Blended in with the thirteen tunes are a couple of 1940's radio uptakes of the Carter girls before the song. June sometimes gives an intro to the song and talks to the musicians, once Norman Blake (great bluegrass guitarist) asked," You'll tell me when to end the song?" and June playfully says , "I'll tell you when to stop." He was the only musician on that song, "The Cannonball Blues."
The songs (all classics) are done with a deliberate mature confidence. The three songs with Johnny are especially touching "Road To Kaintuck", "Temptation" and how appropriate, "Will You Miss Me When I'm Gone?"
Other Songs include great version of "Wildwood Flower", "Big Yellow Peaches", "Alcatraz", "Sinking In The Lonesome Sea", "Kneeling Drunkard's Plea", plus four more songs.
In closing, I must say that the Carter Family have built something to last, a goodbye present from June that will live on. Release date for the album is: 9/9/03.
