Program
Highlights:
Get ready for
a fun yet challenging cheer program that focuses on cheerleading
fundamentals and techniques as well as physical training that
embraces the ideal that cheerleading is a sport for athletes!
Your
cheerleader will learn arm motions, jumps, cheers, and chants!
Enjoy fun activities such as jump roping, relay races, tumbling,
and so much more! They will learn how to encourage crowd
participation at football games and gain the courage and self
esteem to be themselves in front of people
We will
attend a cheerleading competition with other cheerleaders from
our conference and learn how to compete using a choreographed
cheer routine and stunts while exhibiting our good sportsmanship
skills.
Your child
will experience friendships that may last a lifetime through
team events, partnership activities, and overall participation.
Practice Schedule & Location:
Practice will begin on Monday July 30, 2012 at Orange Terrace
Park. 6-8 PM. Practices will continue Monday through Friday.
After games start, usually the first Saturday after Labor Day,
practices will be Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday. More
information to come on competition practice. This schedule will
continue for all cheerleaders through playoffs.
Mascots will
have a modified practice schedule. We will discuss that schedule
the first week of practice.
Games:
Cheerleaders are required to attend all football games. Games
are held on Saturdays. Times and locations will vary according
to divisions. Some traveling is required to attend the games.
You will receive a game schedule after practices have started
and as soon as they are available.
Our game
season does not end until after playoffs are finished. If your
team does not make playoffs, your entire squad will be
reassigned to a team that is in playoffs until all teams have
achieved victory or been eliminated. We highly stress the
importance of being at all playoff games to give our football
players support.
Cheer
Clinic:
A
date and time TBD. All cheer participants (excluding
mascots) are expected
to attend. The main purpose of this clinic is to teach cheer
and stunt safety. In addition, cheerleaders will learn new
cheers, get hands on coaching, and meet cheerleaders from other
squads in the conference. A fun and exciting day for all!
Competition:
Your cheerleader will have the opportunity to compete in our
Conference Cheerleading Competition! All participating
cheerleaders will receive training with a certified trainer and
choreographer in preparation of competing. More information on

Fund
Raising / Sponsorship:
Fund raising is a crucial part of cheerleading. It helps to
cover the cost of our banquet, choreographer, tumbling coach
fees and our competition. These costs have not been
included in your registration fees and therefore need to be
covered through fund raising. All cheer participants are
required to participate in all fund raising efforts.
Sponsorships are available. Friends, family, neighbors, and
businesses may participate as a sponsor for your child and/or
the league. Please see one of the cheer coordinators or any
Board Member to receive a Sponsorship package and more
information.
Coaches
/ Volunteers Needed:
Orangecrest
JAAF and Cheer consists solely of volunteers. There is a
current and immediate need for coaches, assistant coaches, team
moms, and various other cheer committee positions. You will be
given all of the training and support necessary to fulfill any
position. Regardless of experience, this is something you can
do! Join us in being a part of a program that promotes health,
fitness, sportsmanship, friendship, and a really good time!
