Carol Husband
was born in Ohio and attended college in Wisconsin. Carol, the
mother of two children, gives private art lessons for K-12 and
also has a mural and faux finishing business.
She is the
art program teacher at Orange Elementary in Corona and currently
president of their PTA. She creates oversized props for school
programs, loves to paint large murals, and conquers new art
mediums in bold ways.
Carol
describes her involvement with the Giant Orange this way: “There I
was, having an ordinary day, balancing many interests of sorts.
Then, out of the blue a Giant Orange falls from nowhere and
smashes right in the middle of my life.
Only in
California can this happen, I thought. When I worked at Disney
World everything had that large wow factor and now the Orange.
The children to whom I teach art, along with my family, asked me
what I was going to do with such a gigantic orange. I told them,
first I must add a touch of creative juice to it, and do so with
care. Then I’ll celebrate it with family and friends. Lastly,
I’ll send the orange on its way out to the world for all to enjoy.
