January 19, 2005 City Council Meeting

A meeting was held on January 19, 2005 in the Riverside Council chambers.  An  update was given to the Evergreen Memorial Historic Cemetery  members and to the community regarding progress made toward the renovation of the cemetery.   Points that were covered:

An aerial survey has been completed.

$186,035 has been collected so far.

A list for committee help was started - especially fundraising.

A title search by 1st American Title has been completed.

The Riverside City Council allotted $250,000 for the cemetery to be framed with curbs, gutters and storm drains.

The council also approved a donation from the Riverside Public Utilities of up to $100,000 which will be spread out over 5 years to help with the cemetery's upkeep.

An estimate is being sought for rodent control before any work is started.
