Chet Franklin: In the 1960’s, Phil Crosby, started his ITT corporate training in Zero Defects policy. Chet worked at ITT as a Project Engineer and was one of Phil’s trainees. That was when he first joined ASQC. In the 1980’s there was training in TQM. As an engineering manager at Hughes Aircraft he lent two of his engineers to GM to be on a Six Sigma team with Motorola. They brought back Six Sigma principles and Chet included those in his staff training.  His other training has included ISO 9000 Lead Auditor, Lean Six Sigma and Six Sigma Green belt. He has conducted supplier audits and audits for ISO 9000 and ISO 17025.

John Schulz: P.E., C.M., Senior Member, in ASQ since 1963, graduated from RPI as a Mechanical Engineer and went into the Navy as a ship's Engineering Officer and later as an Instructor at Iowa State University. He started his work career at Bourns, Inc as QA Director and went on to General Dynamics and then to Ford Aerospace and last to Safetran Systems in various QA and Engineering management assignments. He has a PE license, he is a Certified Manager (CM), he has a Lifetime Teaching Credential in CA, he has a Engineering class A Contractors license in CA and has recently certified as a Six Sigma Black Belt.

Duane Allen Duane is an ASQ Senior Member and he has been past  Chair of the ASQ Quality Measurement Division, has earned six quality certifications ( Certified Reliability Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Quality Manager, Certified Calibration Technician, Six Sigma Blackbelt and Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt). If any member has more quality certifications please let us know. Duane was a Charter Member of the Inland Empire Section and actively participates in Region 7 and ASQ National events. Section Members are fortunate to have him as our treasurer position.

Phil Laure: Phil has over twenty five years of strong and comprehensive experience in a variety of businesses ranging from high-speed commercial to aerospace manufacturing. He uses his background in process improvement and team building to facilitate leadership and operations process improvement teams. He has successfully led over fifty Kaizen process improvement team events and he provides an innovative approach to problem solving opportunities.
 
Mr. Laure holds a bachelors degree in Business and is a certified Quality Manager and Certified Quality Auditor through the American Society for Quality. He is currently serving as the Section Chair for the Inland Empire Section of the American Society for Quality. He is also a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and the American Productivity and Inventory Control Society (APICS

Paul Doherty CQA, has been in Quality Assurance since 1983 in the Aerospace, Nuclear and Commercial Industries. Paul is currently the Systems Integrity Manager for Wilden Pump & Engineering, LLC the world's leading Air Operated Double-Diaphragm Pump Manufacture, located in Grand Terrace, CA. His responsibilities include managing the Warranty, Calibration, Quality Assurance and Quality Control Departments. Additionally, Paul's responsibilities include the maintenance of the company's (QMS) ISO 9001 & (EMS) ISO 14001 programs. Wilden has been registered to ISO 9001 since 1994 and to ISO 14001 since 2004. The company manages these two programs as an Integrated Management System (IMS). Katie Kacarab:  Katie provides technical writing support to the Metrology R&D Program at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Corona, Calif.  In addition, Katie is involved with the development and implementation of a Quality Management System for the Metrology R&D Program.  Though interested in many quality-based initiatives, Katie’s preferred focus is on how best to establish a Knowledge Management System and culture within organizations using various communication methods.  She has a Master of Arts degree in English, with a focus on composition and rhetoric and has a Bachelor of Arts in English with a focus on creative writing. She is Six Sigma Green Belt certified and achieved a Baldrige Examiner certification in 2010.

Vern Goodwalt: Twenty eight years progressive growth in high tech manufacturing as Materials Mgr., Plant Mgr., Operations Mgr., Division Director and VP plus, seven years experience in performance excellence consulting with non-profits, manufacturers, education, and military units. Ron Villanueva: Ron is the Quality Assurance Manager for the Liquid Container manufacturing plant in Rancho Cucamonga where he is responsible for developing and improving the quality management system. Liquid Container L.P. is a plastic packaging producer of food and beverage, consumer and automotive container products. Before Liquid Container, Ron was the Continuous Improvement Manager and QA Manager at La-Z-Boy West in Redlands and was the Quality Lab Manager for W.M. Barr & Co., Inc. in Ontario. He has an MBA from the University of Phoenix and Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry (with a minor in Psychology) from the University of Redlands. In addition, Ron is an ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) and Senior Member and he is currently the Membership Chair of ASQ Inland Empire Section 0711.

Executive Committee Meetings

Executive Committee Meetings will be held on the third Wednesday of the month (unless otherwise announced) at 5:30 p.m., at Canyon Crest Country Club, before the Section's monthly dinner meetings.

Meetings are scheduled for approximately one hour, all officers and committee chairs are urged to be present.  Members are invited to attend. Those whose schedules will not allow their presence should submit summary reports on committee activity.  Reports of Executive Committee Members, who expect to be absent, should be deliverable to the section chair or section secretary not later than 24 hours prior  to the meeting.
