Teddy bear artist, Denise Ilmanen, has been designing
and handmaking miniature teds, known as The Galloping Bears, since 1992. Once the design
has been finalized each bear takes a minimum of 8 hours to complete. They range in size
from 2" to 3-1/2" and are fully jointed (meaning that the arms, legs & heads move) and filled
with either steel shot (for a "bean bag" feel) or polyester fiberfil. The
Galloping Bears' prices range from about $65 to $120.

Our Mission
To make smaller and smaller teddies! We started out making bigger bears in 1984,
then began scaling down the bears' sizes
and eventually became hooked on making miniature bears.
The Galloping Bears have appeared in several of the special issues of Teddy Bear
& Friends featuring miniature bears, as well as the recently published book How to Make
Enchanting Miniature Teddy Bears (by Debbie Kesling).
