Merry Christmas
from Limberlost Welsh Springer Spaniels
Every year I send a picture Christmas card, so I thought that this year I would share with those on the net the making of my Christmas card. In the spirit of the season, I thought that a puppy in the basket with a stuffed animal would be a great theme. So I collected the puppy, the basket, and a stuffed bear. Now in retrospect, I should have tied the bow on the bear but then I am getting ahead of myself. So I found a clean (in a house with 7 adults and 6 puppies, not always easy) area with a pleasing background (no dog foot prints or dust bunnies) and put my props together. Picture one, I guess he was being a little shy, oh I should add that I have a new camera and I am not sure how to make it take the picture exactly when I press the button, like my old camera.
Okay not so good, hidden puppy and not good expression...

So now we get the head up but he appears to be leaving....

Yup, definitely leaving..... Back in the basket...

Mom is checking out the scene and finally, of course the puppy notices the bear, aha progress....

Now I realized that if I turned the basket on end, I could see the puppy better, that was good and he now realizes that he is wearing a ribbon, but too far away to be good...

And finally a picture but I have worn out the puppy and instead of cute we have total boredom. Now having run out of film and time getting short I went and had the film developed, of course not knowing what all the above looked like and just hoping that I had the 2002 Christmas card.
And so now unveiling the 2002 Christmas Card:

Yup, not the puppy pictured above or taken in December, this was a picture that I took this summer of a totally different puppy with no props, he was just sleeping in the middle of all the toys I had thrown on the dog bed while I was cleaning. Thus is the plight of would be photographers.
