Available books:

Welsh Springer Spaniel published in 1991 by Anne Walton is a definitive guide to this wonderful breed.  Mrs. Walton is a long time breeder (over 30 years) and has done a wonderful job chronicling the history of Welsh Springer Spaniels.  This book covers all aspects of the breed (training, grooming, health) and has great pictures throughout.  The book primarily covers the Welsh in England but the world wide aspect is not left out.  I highly recommend this book.

Books for raising and training your Welsh:

The book "Bones Would Rain from the Sky" is an incredible book that explores relationships between owners and their dogs.  Whether you just want to understand your pet or compete with your pet, this is a must read.  For me this is an eye opening book regarding some old tried and not true training methods and motivating your dog.

Out of Print Books:

The  Welsh Springer Spaniel, A Complete and Reliable Handbook by Linda Brennan is now out of print.  This book follows a set format similar to all books in this series.  However the pictures are great and the general information is good.  This is a nice starter book to get to know the breed.  You may still be able to find it on some book sites.

The Essential Welsh Springer Spaniel was privately published in 1985 by John Phillips (Great Britain).  This book is a wonderful book about the breed.  The history and temperment of the breed is expertly captured.  This book is out of print and is hard to find.  Occasionally it shows up on auction sites and rare book sites.

The Welsh Springer Spaniel by William Pferd III (USA) published in 1977 and was the first book published exclusively about this wonderful breed.  This book was also privately published and is out of print and hard to find.  Occasionally it shows up on auction sites and rare book sites.
